In Loving Memory of Dacosta Jones
Tuesday 13th July 2021
11.30am - St Alphege Church, Edmonton, Rossdale Dr, London
Followed by the Committal at Edmonton Cemetery, Church St, Edmonton, London
Dacosta James Herbert Jones was born in 1930 and sailed to the UK from St Michael Barbados in 1956 to start a new life in London. He worked most of his life as a painter and decorator and married Thelma Gill in 1962, enjoying a long and happy marriage, raising four sons and becoming grandfather of eight.
He was a quiet man, but also a shrewd man, mindful off his outgoings as he was also looking after his family back in Barbados and sending every spare penny home to his family in times of need.
Dacosta had a huge passion for Manchester United football team and followed the West Indies Cricket team during their successful years. There wasn’t a sport he didn’t like, but as far as we know he never participated in any.
He was a wonderful man, setting the path for the younger generation who are following behind him, demonstrating how to live a respectable and dutiful life.
The family will miss Dacosta greatly, but rest assured that he will be reunited with Thelma to continue their journey together.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday 13th July 2021 at 11:30hrs
Donations in memory of Dacosta can be made to St Alphege Church Rossdale Drive, Edmonton London N9 7LG United Kingdom
