Evelyn Crozier (nee Gregory) born 23rd December 1927 in Manchester to Eva Gregory and Arthur Gregory and subsequent sister to John Gregory and William (Bill) Gregory.
Eve met Alan Crozier in 1945 whilst teaching dancing with Alan playing the piano to support many stage productions and events and after a whirlwind romance interrupted by Alan being called up for national service, subsequently married him in 1950 at St Luke's Church Wythenshawe on 29th July 1950. They set up home in an old Tudor Cottage which they called AlanEve Cottage opposite the Cedars Community Centre at the junction of Poundswick Lane and Woodhouse Lane where the house was always filled with music and dancing.
Following a very difficult pregnancy, Eve gave birth by cesarean section to Robert David Crozier (David) on 7th June1953 in Wythenshawe Hospital and after a couple of years moved to Colyton Walk in Peel Hall and subsequently Ashurst Road where the whole family spent many happy years together.
Eve and Alan became grandparents to Jenny-Lee and Wendy who they both idolised, spending many fun-filled weekends full of laughter, smiles and the inevitable "searching for a bargain" in the many shops Eve used to visit. Unfortunately, both Eve's brothers John and Bill passed away within a short space of time and she never really came to terms with their loss as they had all been "good buddies" for so long.
In 2017, due to ill health, both Alan and Eve moved to Village 135 not far from AlanEve cottage where they both enjoyed the social life up until Alan's death in December 2019. Eve continued to live at Village 135 but it was obvious that she missed Alan's presence there having been married for almost 70 years and losing her best friend. Despite the added loss of her eyesight she enjoyed life there until a bad fall in January 2022 when she broke her hip and subsequently passed away on 19th February 2022.
She is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother as well as a friend to the many people she befriended during her lifetime which was rich and filled with love and giving.
