Dad was born in the village of Crecora, South East of Limerick on the 16th April 1930. Educated to the standard of the time in the village school and local high school. A keen participant in hurling and Gaelic football.

Work was on the land in the local area until he moved to England where he met his wife to be Ellen at his brother’s wedding and he took employment at various construction sites and engineering works.

They married in January 1963 and had 3 children – John b1964, Michael b1966 and Ann Maria b1969.

A job relocation brought the family to Bletchley, which at the time was a thriving town in North Buckinghamshire – soon to be swallowed up by the conurbation that is Milton Keynes.

A regular at the local church, helping out where he could.

A keen gardener having a large council house garden that he split between grass/ flowers and vegetables. Later in retirement he took an allotment as well, thus keeping himself occupied along with looking after the grandchildren and assisting them on paper rounds etc.

Dad spent the latter years looking after mum until she passed away in August 2021, although he wouldn’t admit it this had an adverse effect on him (lost his purpose) and his health started to decline, finally succumbing to kidney failure on 17th May 2022.
