The Funeral Service
Charity donations in loving memory of Jeanette:
Mum suffered a stroke in 2021 and received support through the Stroke Association. Although living rurally made things harder the Stroke Association provided information and support to get through the early days especially.

Following her stroke, Mum found real joy in the time she spent at Riding for the Disabled in Louth. She would ride the wonderful Tigger - a mechanical horse which enabled her to safely build up stability and confidence again. It was a highlight of her week and the work that the charity does to support people with all forms of disability is marvellous.

Biography:
Jeanette was born in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia today) in 1956 where her father was working as a Mining Engineer. Her English father, Dutch mother and older brother moved back to Cheshire, England where her younger sister was born a few years later.
Jeanette went to school and college in Cheshire catching the bug for riding horses in her teens and this remained a huge passion of hers throughout her life.
She worked for ICI where her father worked and this is where she met her husband to be, Robin. They went on to have 2 children, first Ewan and second Annemieke whilst still living in Cheshire. A few years later the family moved to live in North Wales running a fishing and accommodation leisure business in the Clwydian Mountains, Gweryd Lakes.
Many happy years were had at Gweryd, certainly hard work to run but rewarding to live in such a beautiful place, giving Ewan and Annemieke the opportunity to learn so many life skills along the way.
Robin sadly passed away in 2013 and a few years later Jeanette decided to sell the business and downsize to a small holding for herself and Ewan on the edges of the River Dee near Wrexham.
Jeanette developed a huge passion for Polocrosse following Annemieke and Ewan’s introduction to the sport through Pony Club. 20years + of being involved in the sport watching and supporting Annemieke, playing herself and being involved on organisational committees and in her retirement becoming the Chairman for UK Polocrosse in 2020.
Jeanette suffered a stroke in 2021 the causes of which subsequently led to a decline in health. Annemieke moved both Jeanette and Ewan over to Lincolnshire to all be near eachother in 2022. It was wonderful to have the time to spend with her two grandsons just down the road. She never lost her determined, positive outlook and lust for life and was well on her way to achieving some bigger goals in her stroke recovery this year before sadly cancer struck and she could no longer battle on.
She is already so sorely missed by her family and friends but surrounds us in spirit.
With Love,
Annemieke & Ewan
