Joyce Edwina Wright was born on 30 August 1927 in Burton on Trent to Violet and John Henry Stallard. She married Geoffrey Wright in 1951. The two followed Geoff’s work with British Rail and National Freight Consortium around England for many years before settling in Hatton in 1976.

Joyce was a dynamic part of her community, especially in her church and, until her passing, as an active member of the Women’s Institute. She was adept at handicrafts and had a knack for finding beauty in life, whether in the many places she travelled or the birds in her back garden. Her joy and great enthusiasm for life were visible to those who knew her.

She will be lovingly remembered by many, including her family: Ann & Dave, Jane & Tim, Ben, Ruth & Hannah, and Tim & Katie.

Joyce and Geoff were lifelong supporters of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the RNLI at the link below. We thank you for remembering and celebrating with us today.
