A memorial service for the much-missed Julia Phyllis Montgomery (nee Meilicke), who passed away on July 8, 2023 in Belfast.

This short memorial will take place at St. Johns Wood Church at Albert Place, at 3.15pm (for 3.30pm start) on November 4, 2023. The occasion will feature some speeches, readings and music from family and friends, followed by afternoon tea. We welcome her many friends and connections around the world to join us online for this celebration. We have asked all attendees to dress in their favourite colours, in celebration of Julia’s joyful life and spirit.

 Late of Chelsea, Quebec and Maida Vale, London, Julia died peacefully at Nazareth House Care Village, Belfast, with her family by her side, at the age of 87. Widow of Canadian diplomat William Montgomery (who died in 2001), she is survived by her beloved sister Joyce Catliff (Vancouver), daughter Andrea (Belfast), son Ian (New York), and grandsons William, Nikita and Fedya (New York).

 Julia worked for many years as an Immigration Officer with the Canadian High Commission, and also worked tirelessly on behalf of the Canadian Centennial Scholarship Committee, among other organisations. Active in a large number of social circles, she will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many dear friends throughout Canada, London and across the world.
