Matson Kofi Donkor

Matson Kofi Donkor was born on the 1st August 1952 in Agony Bipoah Ghana the son of KWAKU ADDAE, and AKOSUA MANSAH. Matson’s education was at Prempe College and Okuampiman Secondary in Ghana.

In Ghana, Matson worked within the Ghanaian government at the prestigious Palace in Accra, until an opportunity arose to travel, work and live in the UK.

Matson arrived in the United Kingdom on the 5th September 1974, working in different roles and cities until he returned to settle in Coventry during the mid 80’s.

After qualifying as a social worker, Matson started working across the Midlands in unison with studying a Master’s degree at Aston University in Birmingham. He worked as a social worker in different roles until he retired in 2017.

Matson met Jessie, during his formative working years in Coventry and they had their son Joseph, born on the 24th July 1978.

In 1986, Matson meet Angelia and her two children, Lemmise and Duane. Matson and Angelia had two sons together Jamaine born on the 26th January 1989, followed by Gerome on the 1st July 1992.

Matson took particular enjoyment from his children’s various personal and work achievements. which always made him happy.

After retirement Matson started to enjoyed himself travelling to Ghana on several occasions, while welcoming his granddaughter Lainey-Mae, who he referred to as 'Little Miss'.

Following a quick and sudden illness Matson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
