Molene’s love of guitar till the end. Rest in Peace
In loving memory of Molene Shewa, born on April 10, 1986, in Douala, Cameroon. His name, a beautiful fusion of his parents’ names, Moise and Helene, embodied the love that surrounded his birth. Molene’s journey on this earth took him from Cameroon to the UK at six months old when he and his mother traveled to join his father, who was pursuing postgraduate studies in London at the time.
As a baby, Molene was so endearing that his nickname became “fine boy,” drawing endless adoration from all who knew or met him.
Six months after their move to London, Molene had a fever one evening and experienced convulsions. He was taken to the hospital that night for observation, and something momentous occurred - The rest is an history that would shape the life of a remarkable man.
Molene survived, but as time went on, his parents began to realise that he had suffered brain injury. The full extent of this damage remained unknown to them; Molene’s mental growth was hindered, and his ability to learn and grow was impacted by the events of that night. However, despite facing health challenges early on, Molene brought infectious joy and laughter into every moment. Though his means of communication were unconventional, his emotions were expressed with unwavering directness.
His happiness, frustration, and, most of all, his excitement to explore life in his unique way, often beckoning for a hand to accompany him. Molene navigated his life with resilience despite a learning disability, endearing himself to those around him. Among the few things he loved, none surpassed his affection for the guitar, an instrument that brought him boundless joy until his final days.
As the years passed, Molene’s path led him to a care home at the age of 19, where he spent two decades, surrounded by constant visits from his family and those who cared for him. His sudden departure on November 27, 2023, from an undetermined cause leaves a profound void in the hearts of his parents, siblings, and all who knew him.
Though his life took an unexpected turn, Molene’s memory will be cherished for the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the resonating melody of his guitar that echoes in our hearts. Unbeknownst to him, Molene imparted countless lessons to those around him, while that night many years ago may have seemed to define him, it was everything that followed that gracefully describes who Molene is. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we, his family, find solace in the precious moments we shared with him, until we meet again.
