In Loving Memory of Robert Wood

Friday 12th August 2022

13.00 - Tithe Green Burial Ground, Calverton, Nottingham

The Wood family announces the passing of Robert Wood (68) Wollaton, Nottingham. Born 15th February 1954, Rob died peacefully at his home on 19th July 2022. He spent the last week of his life with his daughters Onika and Bindie, as well as dogs Sam and Joe.

Rob was a much-loved friend, neighbour, colleague, brother, dad and husband to the late Nicola (Nicky) Green.

Forever special in his own way, and a man of no nonsense and fuss, Rob will be remembered as a man of great wit, wisdom, with a vision ahead of his time.

He took in many teen-age waifs and strays; rescued a fair few dogs from Nottingham RSPCA; could roll a rolly in his sleep; down a bucket of tea or a ‘tinny’ and often had a pencil behind his ear. His last ‘essential shop’ was beer and baccy.

He was an avid reader with a love of science and philosophy bordering on the esoteric, and was a keen fan of Sci-fi.

In accordance with his wishes, Rob will have a green burial. Details of the Burial and Graveside Service are as follows:

Friday 12th August at 1pm
Tithe Green Burial Ground
Salterford Lane
Calverton
Nottingham
NG14 6NZ

Due to restrictions in relation to a green burial, PLEASE DO NOT BRING OR SEND FLOWERS.

In time, Rob will become a ‘Guardian of Sherwood Forest’ and a remembrance plaque placed on the Sherwood Tree of Life. Rob’s legacy, and super-hero status, will live on.
