Vincent first came to the UK from Jamaica in 1944, aged 17 along with many other Caribbean soldiers who were called upon to help in the war effort. He joined the RAF and helped with maintenance of planes and other vehicles and was based in Worcester. He returned to Jamaica in 1946.
He returned to England in 1954 where he was later reunited with his childhood sweetheart Leonora and they married in 1955. During their marriage he spent many years caring for her as later in life Leonora was confined to a wheelchair. They were married for 61 years till her death in 2016.
He loved his family. Nothing more delighted him than spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He loved quizzes. Especially The Chase, Countdown and University challenge. He also loved watching sport especially snooker, horse racing and the West Indies cricket team.
His later life was blighted by arthritis and later on Parkinson's Disease which affected his mobility, and he became housebound. Despite this he still was a bright spark and loved having meaningful conversations with his family.
