In Loving Memory of William O’Mahony

Willaim (Liam ) O’Mahony (14/05/1931 – 18/08/2025)

Born and raised in Mallow County Cork Eire.

Came to England when he was 21 with £10 in his pocket.

Liam was always a good practicing Catholic his entire life also a pioneer (no drinking) since his early life. He enjoyed dog racing for many years and made good friends.

He found work and somewhere to live, he worked hard to make a living.

He met Eileen his future wife at a dance. Eileen’s father helped him get a job at the train ticket office Maidenhead.

He progressed to work at Paddington and became senior finance assistant for the British Railways Board.

He and Eileen married and had three children Robert, Peter & Helen.

Liam Retired at 55 due to ill health and had heart surgery that would give him 10 plus years!! He lived to 94 so far exceeded that expectation.

He helped with the church fetes and contributed to his local parish and other charities

He was always busy gardening, Decorating, DIY, patio laying and helping his sons and daughter with their home projects into his 70s.

He became a granddad and great grandad.

He was there to help others when required and always with a big smile that we will all remember him for.

He cared for his wife Eileen with Alzheimer’s for many years until she needed full time care. He was always a popular member of the local community and a family man.

He visited a lot of new places over the last 6 years of his life always willing to try something new.

In the last couple of years he needed care himself but remained in his own home until he passed away peacefully on August 18th
